VAV terminal enquiry guide

Connect the VAV arrangement, airflow schedule, duct interfaces and controls scope in one clear terminal-unit brief.

SKYRO product guide · Updated 27 Oct 2026

Use the control arrangement in the design

SKYRO lists bypass, pressure-dependent and pressure-independent VAV arrangements. Identify the arrangement specified by the designer rather than selecting from the product name alone. Give each terminal a tag tied to its room, zone and BOQ line. Include the design airflow schedule, with operating values clearly labelled as issued by the project team. Where the schedule and controls drawing disagree, highlight the discrepancy so the intended arrangement can be resolved before the quotation is finalised.

Define controls and supply responsibilities

Attach the relevant control description and identify the actuator, controller, sensors and related items required by that design. State the electrical supply, control signal and any building-management interface requirement for discussion with the controls team. Separate equipment supplied with the terminal from equipment supplied by others. List commissioning information or documentation requested by the project. Do not assume that a controller or integration feature is included merely because the product is described as VAV.

Coordinate the terminal with its surroundings

Provide connection sizes, proposed orientation, available ceiling or plant space and the access side for controls and maintenance. Show the inlet and outlet on a drawing so the intended airflow direction is clear. Identify any separately specified plenum or sound attenuator and the connection between line items. Ask for applicable selection data and an outline drawing for the proposed configuration. The project team should review airflow, pressure and acoustic requirements alongside the physical fit before confirming the unit.

Before you contact SKYRO

  • Identify terminal tags, zones and the specified VAV arrangement.
  • Attach design airflow values with their meaning and units.
  • List actuator, controller, sensors and interface requirements.
  • Show duct connections, orientation and service-access space.
  • Separate associated plenum, attenuator and commissioning scope.

Discuss your product requirements.

Share your product schedule, dimensions, quantities and project location. Attach the relevant drawings or BOQ privately through the enquiry form.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Useful answers before you enquire.

Which VAV arrangement should I request?
Use the arrangement defined in the approved design. Share the schedule and control description if the BOQ does not identify it clearly.
Is the controller included with the terminal?
Confirm the quoted scope. List the required actuator, controller, sensors and interfaces, identifying which items are supplied or commissioned by others.
Can I enquire using only the connection diameter?
Add the control arrangement, design airflow, available space and controls requirements. Connection size alone does not define the intended terminal configuration.
How should I describe the airflow values?
Keep the units and schedule labels visible, including different operating values where issued. Ask the designer to clarify unlabelled or conflicting figures.
Do I need to include access details?
Yes. Mark the control side and available maintenance access on the coordination drawing so the proposed unit can be reviewed in its intended position.
